Seventh Generation Announces Winner of Mother Nature Contest

BURLINGTON, VT -- Seventh Generation, the nation's leading brand of environmentally responsible household solutions, held a contest searching for real life "Mother Nature" inspirations during Earth Month. Stories of inspirations came in from across the country, showcasing how people were leading by example and showing others the way to a safer family and healthier planet.

A Florida woman who has dedicated her life to educating people about a healthy lifestyle was selected as the lucky winner. Michelle Toole of Tarpon Springs, FL was the special recipient of the “Search for Mother Nature” award due to a winning submission by her friend Sharon Birkett. Michelle created and runs the website www.healthy-holistic-living.com

In an excerpt from her nomination, Birkett says: "My real-life Mother Nature is my friend, Michelle. Michelle became sick with a chronic illness in 1999. Since then, she has been on a mission to improve her health. Three years ago, she started a web site called Healthy-Holistic-Living.com. The goal of this site is to educate people about healthy lifestyles and non-toxic living. She also offers support to people dealing with chronic illness. Michelle responds to everyone who e-mails her. It is safe to say that she has helped thousands of people lead healthier lifestyles."

Seventh Generation donated $2,500 in Michelle’s name to the Breast Cancer Fund and both women received a year’s supply of Seventh Generation product.
